Happy Hour & Conservation Field Day near Louisville, KY & Bloomington, IN

Join Adventure Scientists’ community to connect over a fun happy hour event Friday night, then hit the trail together for a guided hike in Hoosier National Forest on Saturday. Training and equipment provided. No matter your background, this event is designed to be accessible, welcoming, and rooted in learning.

  • Search for healthy beech and butternut trees and collect leaf samples for DNA analysis. Your samples could find disease-resistant trees and nourish future, healthy forests!

  • Help guide forest restoration efforts for generations to come.

  • Happy Hour event hosted by Adventure Scientists
  • First drink and snacks at Happy Hour on us (no cost!)
  • Guided group hike through Hoosier National Forest
  • Hands-on demonstration of how to accurately collect tree samples with scientifically-rigid provided equipment
  • Free on-site parking and facilities
  • An on-site presentation from Adventure Scientists
  • Training on identifying American beech and the infamous butternut trees.

Schedule:

  • Friday, July 17, 6:30 – 8:30 pm ET: Happy Hour & Get Together with Adventure Scientists
  • Saturday, July 18th, 10:00 – 12:00pm ET: In-Person Training and Guided Hike through Hoosier National Forest

⚠️ Important Requirement: Upon RSVP, you will receive access to a short online training on how to identify healthy beech and butternut trees. Please complete the required online training in advance to attend.

Spots are limited to ensure a high-quality, hands-on experience, so RSVP to secure your spot, meet awesome people, and hike for conservation.
