Two-Day Conservation Community Event in Central Washington
Join Adventure Scientists’ community of outdoor enthusiasts and conservation volunteers fora two-part, in-person event in Central Washington. Meet other outdoor adventurers over dinner, followed by a guided hike to retrieve wildlife recording devices for forest conservation.
⚠️ Important Requirement: If you plan to pick up ARUs or equipment at this event, you must complete the required online training in advance. Participants must be able to navigate to GPS units with offline navigation systems.
Day 1: Presentation & Outdoor Community Dinner
- Overview of Adventure Scientists and the PNW Biodiversity Project
- Deep dive into wildlife recording retrieval and the final phase of the project
- Opportunities to ask questions and connect with staff
- Dinner provided (no cost!)
Day 2: Hike for Conservation
- Guided hike to a project location with other outdoor enthusiasts
- Live training of how to retrieve devices in the field
- Hiking into rarely-seen landscapes in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest
