California Biodiversity Project

Adventure Scientists x Adam Kimble

Welcome to Team Trail Runners with Adam Kimble! We are so glad you have joined the California Biodiversity Project and are committed to logging miles for conservation.

Adventure Scientists, Adam Kimble, and the California Institute of Biodiversity have teamed up to complete an all-taxa biodiversity inventory for the state of California. As a part of this project, you can collect data while hitting the trails you love or discovering new ones, all while helping to catalog the amazing biodiversity of California.

No science background needed; we’ll provide the training, tools, and support you need to make a difference.

Combine Science and Adventure

One of the world’s 36 most biodiverse regions, California is a treasure trove of wildlife, plants, and ecosystems in need of protection. To address this, the state has set an ambitious goal with the 30×30 Plan—to conserve 30% of its lands and coastal waters by 2030.

Researchers are working to understand California’s biodiversity, but they can’t cover all the ground you can.
