Adventure Scientists Raffles, Sweepstakes & Contests Official Rules

Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation, Inc., as Adventure Scientists, its affiliates, partners, and related entities (collectively, “Adventure Scientists”), may conduct raffles, giveaways, sweepstakes, and contests from time to time through its website, email communications, social media channels, events, and other promotional platforms.

All sweepstakes, giveaways, and contests conducted by Adventure Scientists in which a winner is selected at random are subject to these Official Rules unless otherwise stated in the specific promotion.

No purchase, donation, or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase or donation will not increase your changes of winning. Void where prohibited by law.

Eligibility

Adventure Scientists Raffles and Sweepstakes are open only to legal residents of the United States who are at least eighteen (18) years of age and have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry.

Sweepstakes are void outside of the United States and wherever prohibited or restricted by law.

Employees, officers, directors, contractors, interns, and agents of Adventure Scientists, its advertising and promotional agencies, prize providers, and any entities involved in administering a Sweepstakes, as well as their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses) and members of the same household, are not eligible to enter.

All Raffles, Sweepstakes, and Giveaways are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Raffles, sweepstakes, and giveaways are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, or any other social media platform unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Raffle Period

Each Sweepstakes will specify an official start date and time and an end date and time within the promotional materials associated with it.

Adventure Scientists reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate any period at any time, subject to applicable law.

How to Enter

To enter, follow the instructions provided in the promotional materials associated with that raffle or sweepstakes.

Unless otherwise specified, an alternative free method of entry may be available by mail. To enter by mail, send a handwritten note card containing:

• Your full name
• Mailing address
• Email address and/or phone number
• Name of the Sweepstakes/Raffle
• Closing date
• Any additional information specified in the promotion

Mail-in entries must be received before the end of the applicable period.

Adventure Scientists is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, damaged, misdirected, delayed, or postage-due entries.

Nonprofit Fundraising and Donations

Adventure Scientists is a nonprofit organization. From time to time, a Sweepstakes or Raffle may be promoted in connection with fundraising, awareness, educational, or community engagement campaigns.

No donation, purchase, payment, contribution, or other consideration is required to enter or win. Making a donation to Adventure Scientists will not increase an entrant’s chances of winning.

Any donation made to Adventure Scientists is voluntary, supports the organization’s charitable mission, and is not made in exchange for an entry, increased odds of winning, or any other related benefit.

Entrants may participate through the free method of entry described in these Official Rules or as otherwise provided in the applicable promotion. Whether an individual enters through a donation-related promotion, a free method of entry, or any other eligible method, all valid entries will receive equal treatment and have an equal chance of winning.

Adventure Scientists encourages supporters to contribute because they believe in advancing conservation through science and outdoor adventure, not because of promotional opportunity.

Winner Selection and Notification

Winner(s) will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received before the closing period.

Unless otherwise specified, Adventure Scientists will attempt to notify potential winner(s) within forty-eight (48) hours after the Sweepstakes drawing.

If a potential winner:

• Cannot be contacted within a reasonable period;
• Fails to respond within the time specified by Adventure Scientists;
• Is determined to be ineligible; or
• Fails to comply with these Official Rules;

the potential winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected.

The decisions of Adventure Scientists regarding all aspects are final and binding.

Prizes

Prizes will be described in the applicable promotion.

No cash substitution, transfer, or assignment of prizes is permitted except at Adventure Scientists’ sole discretion.

Adventure Scientists reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason.

Winner is responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes, fees, or other costs associated with prize acceptance or use unless otherwise stated.

Odds of Winning

Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

Participation and Release

By participating, entrants agree to:

• Be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Adventure Scientists;
• Represent and warrant that their entry complies with all applicable laws and does not infringe upon the rights of any third party; and
• Release and hold harmless Adventure Scientists, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, partners, and agents from any liability, claims, losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of participation or acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize.

Publicity Release

Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner’s consent for Adventure Scientists to use the winner’s name, likeness, photograph, city and state of residence, and information related to the awarded prize for promotional, educational, fundraising, and publicity purposes in any media now known or later developed, worldwide and in perpetuity, without further compensation, review, approval, or notice.

Limitation of Liability

Adventure Scientists is not responsible for:

• Lost, late, incomplete, illegible, inaccurate, delayed, damaged, stolen, or misdirected entries;
• Technical failures of any kind;
• Human error in the administration of the Sweepstakes or Raffle;
• Unauthorized intervention in any part; or
• Any injury, loss, or damage resulting from participation or use of any prize.

Adventure Scientists reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes or Raffle.

Privacy

Information collected will be used in accordance with Adventure Scientists’ Privacy Policy.
