Adventure Scientists and the California Institute for Biodiversity are seeking passionate volunteers to help collect vital data on insects and soil for eDNA analysis, a cutting-edge method that allows scientists to detect and identify species present in an environment.

Your efforts will contribute to groundbreaking research and conservation efforts.

As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to potential new species discoveries
  • Help shape conservation priorities for California
  • Gain hands-on experience in field research

What You’ll Do:

  • Collect soil and insect samples using simple, provided tools.
  • Record data using a smartphone app.
  • Ship samples to research labs for DNA analysis.

No prior experience is needed. We’ll provide you with the tools and training you need to collect high-quality field data.
