Join Adventure Scientists and the Siskiyou Field Institute for a one-of-a-kind weekend designed to connect outdoor volunteers and explore rarely-before-seen national forest locations for wildlife data collection.

What’s Included:
- Free camping on Friday night
- Group dinner on Friday (no cost!)
- Coffee and light breakfast Saturday morning (no cost!)
- Exclusive access to wildlife sound collection locations in nearby national forests
- Free onsite parking
- Access to firepit and outdoor gathering spaces
- Bathhouse (flush toilets, hot showers, potable water)
- River access for swimming (weather permitting)
- Outdoor kitchen pavilion (tables, electricity, running water)
- In-person motivation and support to place recording devices in the field, a vital step in ensuring we can collect critical wildlife data during their most vocal time of year.

Event Schedule:
Friday, May 29th, 2026: Optional, but highly encouraged Volunteer Appreciation Gathering
Arrival begins at 5pm PT. This is a great opportunity to meet other outdoor enthusiasts before heading into the field.

- Explore rarely-seen landscapes in nearby national forests and make an impact on wildlife and biodiversity preservation.
- Meet the Adventure Scientists team and learn about the Preserving PNW Biodiversity Project
- ARU (Autonomous Recording Unit) live demo
- Field readiness guidance and next steps
- Concludes at 4pm with optional camping Saturday night into Sunday morning ($20 per person, collected on-site)

Event Location:
Grants Pass, OR. Exact location will be shared upon RSVP.
⚠️ Important Requirement: If you plan to pick up ARUs or equipment at this event, you must complete the required online training in advance. Participants must be able to navigate to GPS units with offline navigation systems.
